Can my gates open more than 90 deg?
Yes, all of our gates can be installed so the gates will open 180 deg. The hinge pin can be installed on the rear of the post, the gate will fit in-between the post or behind the post.
Is my gate suitable for Automation?
All our gates are manufactured to take above ground automation. If you are thinking of installing under ground automation we can modify the gates to accommodate this.
How do I measure for my gate?
If you measure between the two faces that face each other then we can allow for the hinges.
Can I fit the gates directly on my pillars?
Depending on the pillars you have we can supply mounting plates with pins on so the gates can be fitted directly on to the pillars without the need for timber wall plates.
What size posts will I require?
Let us know the size of the gates you require, and we will use our years of experience to advise of the size you will need.
Do the gates need to be treated?
Our gates are manufactured using the highest quality timber. You can leave your gates to fade naturally if that’s the finish you require but if you would like to treat them we recommend “Teak oil” or “Danish oil”. This works as o moisturiser to prevent your gate drying out.
Can I have black hinges?
All of our hinges are supplied fully galvanised (silver/grey). We can powder coat the hinges to whichever colour you require. There will be an extra cost for this.
What size pedestrian gates do I need?
The ideal size for a pedestrian gate is 3ft6”(1050mm) wide. The minimum size would be 3ft(900mm)
What’s the Maximum size opening can I have?
Generally for courtyard gates the maximum size opening would be 14ft (4.2m) and for all other gates 7.2M (nefyn gates 12ft 3.6m)
What’s the delivery time?
Generally the lead time for our gates is 3-4 weeks but this can vary depending of the time of the year, so give us a call and we can give you a realistic time scale.

The delivery cost depends on your location, give us a call and we can give you a competitive price for delivery.
Can I Paint the gates?
We don’t recommend painting gates, but if you do want to paint the gates we recommend using“micro porous” paint. This allows the timber to breath. If this paint isn’t used it can cause the gate to sweat and rot from inside out. Its like wearing a cheap waterproof jacket!
